DLG PowerMix test for the Fendt 724 Vario Gen7.1

In the independent PowerMix test by the German Agricultural Society (DLG) with test number 7552, the Fendt 724 Vario Gen7.1 achieved absolute top marks in the field and on the road. According to a Fendt analysis of the publicly accessible DLT test reports, the results of the 14 test cycles showed top values for performance, efficiency and fuel consumption for the Fendt 724 Vario with Fendt DynamicPerformance (DP) in the hp class from 240 to 310 hp*.
In the field, the Fendt 724 Vario with DP consumed only 242 g/kWh (+26.1 g/kWh AdBlue), thus exactly the same value as the top model Fendt 728 Vario. This value equates to nine percent, or an entire 21 g/kWh below the consumption of its predecessor, the Fendt 724 Vario Gen6. There is a new calculation of the values in g/kWh to the consumption in litres per hectare and ground coverage. The consumption of the Fendt 724 Vario Gen7.1 is consistent with a consumption of 5.4 l/ha (+0.4 l/ha AdBlue) and has a ground coverage of 9.2 ha/hour.
Top marks in transport for the Fendt 724 Vario Gen7.1
At a speed of 40 km/h, the Fendt 724 Vario Gen7.1 also reached a top score of 321 g/kWh (+ 33.8 g/kWh AdBlue). This value lies 17 percent below the consumption of its predecessor, the Fendt 724 Vario Gen6. This value reflects consumption of only 3.7 l/100tkm (+0.3 l/100tkm AdBlue), or 3.7 litres of diesel and 0.3 litres of AdBlue for 100 kilometres per transported tonne. The model operates with a savings of 11 g/kWh than the previous best in its class, the Fendt 728 Vario with a value of 332 g/kWh (+33 g/kWh AdBlue).
During transport work at a speed of 50 km/h, the the Fendt 724 Vario Gen7.1 achieves a value of 324 g/kWh (+34.4 g/kWh AdBlue), and also falls 12 g/kWh under the previous best score of the Fendt 728 Vario, or 17 percent below the value of the predecessor model.
This result for the Fendt 724 Vario Gen7.1 represents a consumption of 3.8 l/100tkm (+0.3 l/100tkm AdBlue), and achieves the best score of all of the tractors in the hp class from 240 to 310 hp* tested in the DLG PowerMix 2.0.
After the update for the series, the Fendt 724 Gen7.1 model is now approved to 60 km/h for the first time. At this speed on the road, the machine consumes 326 g/kWh (+34.5 g/kWh AdBlue) and also undercuts the performance of the Fendt 728 Vario by 12 g/kWh.
Overall result for transport work for the Fendt 724 Vario Gen7.1
Speed | Diesel Consumption (g/kWh) | AdBlue Consumption (g/kWh) |
40 km/h | 321 | 33.8 |
50 km/h | 324 | 34.4 |
60 km/h | 326 | 34.5 |
Machines in this performance class represent about half of the current operating hours on the road and during harvest, for example when transporting silage. Calculations based on the independent test results show that the use of a Fendt 724 Vario Gen7.1 can significantly reduce fuel consumption in this range compared to other tractors. Depending on the diesel and AdBlue prices, this represents an operating cost advantage of up to 16,000 EUR** for the New Fendt 724 Vario Gen7.1 compared to the predecessor model. (**Price advantage calculated with the following values: Diesel price: 1.60 €/l; AdBlue: 0.65 €/l).
